Background and Experience
As a Project Estimator, Lucas works alongside project engineers during the engineering and design phase uses design plans and drawings to develop a cost estimate for the project. This estimation process factors in how long it will take foremen and workers to complete a project, quantities of materials that will need to be purchased, equipment that will have to be used or rented, any subcontractors that will need to be utilized, as well as site-specific challenges such as site access. After project costs have been estimated, SEC can send out accurate proposals to clients and sign contracts.
In his past work experience, Lucas has both started his own business and worked with other firms. Through these experiences, he has learned the ins and outs of running a company successfully and managing operational expenses. In his other work, he was a numerical analyst for a hybrid Venture Capital-Private Equity firm, which has contributed to his success as a project estimator.
