Experience and Background
Robert Mahony, known to his co-workers and clients as Bob, has had a long career in construction and engineering. He started in 1963 with Gribaldo, Jacobs, Jones, and Associates in Mountainview, CA, as a Geotechnical Project Engineer. In 1968, he began working for Pacific Architects and Engineering, where he was a Project Engineer for various projects in Korea. During the Vietnam war, Bob worked for a government contractor overseeing the engineering and building of military infrastructure in Vietnam. At that time, he oversaw thousands of people. All told, Bob worked in various South-East Asian countries as a Geotechnical Engineer, specializing in large-scale government and military projects.
After returning from Asia, Bob founded Soil Engineering Construction, Inc in 1971. Since then, he has been the President of the company, overseeing engineering and construction projects all up and down California. As a Geologist, Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Engineering Geologist, and licensed Engineering Contractor, Bob’s advice can be trusted for a large variety of building projects. Some of his main areas of work include landslide repair, foundation stabilization, grouting, shoring, and more.
Over the years, Bob has been involved in many public and private projects. He has been a member of a panel of experts formed by San Mateo County to advise Caltrans on methods of stabilizing the Devils Slide area on Highway One.
